Prince Papay Fahnbulleh extradited from the ACT after alleged St Clair murder

The moment which allegedly sparked the grisly murder of a man in Sydney’s west has been revealed following his extradition from Canberra.

A man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-partner’s new love interest after seeing them in bed together in western Sydney has been extradited from the ACT and charged with murder following a weekend manhunt.

Prince Fahnbulleh faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday where his extradition to NSW was granted following an investigation into the alleged murder of Youhanna Angok at St Clair.

Court documents tendered on Tuesday lay out the circumstances surrounding the fatal alleged stabbing which claimed the life of Mr Angok.

In these documents, it was said Mr Fahnbulleh and Mr Angok were associates for several years via mutual friends.

Mr Fahnbulleh was in a relationship with an unnamed woman who they shared a child with however recently broke up.

Police say in court documents Mr Angok started a new relationship with the woman and came to her home in St Clair on June 9.

Messages between Fahnbulleh and the woman state he was allowed to visit the address to collect clothes that were placed at the front of the property.

About 4.20pm on June 9, Fahnbulleh was driven to the St Clair home by an associate and entered the home without the woman’s permission.

Court documents state the 24-year-old entered the woman’s bedroom and found her asleep in bed with Mr Angok.

Police allege Mr Fahnbulleh became “enraged” at the sight and ran from the bedroom to the kitchen and grabbed a large kitchen knife.

Mr Fahnbulleh walked back into the bedroom and allegedly stabbed Mr Angok several times in the chest.

The woman tried to intervene however was allegedly brushed aside.

Police allege Mr Angok tried to protect himself with a pillow during the stabbing.

Mr Fahnbulleh allegedly fled the property by jumping off the balcony while still holding the knife and covered in blood.

He allegedly ran to an associate who drove him to the property and left St Clair for Parramatta.

Emergency services were called with paramedics and police desperately trying to save Mr Angok’s life, however he died at the scene.

Police say in court documents Mr Fahnbulleh was known to sleep at various locations with unknown mates for the past month and had a history of domestic violence offences, intimidation, drug possession, fraud and violence.

A manhunt began with a warrant issued for his arrest with police asking the public’s assistance locating the African man in his 20s with a solid build and black hair in short dreadlocks.

Investigating police confirmed they were looking into whether the incident was motivated by a possible love triangle.

Mr Fahnbulleh came into the crosshairs following a car crash on Gungahlin Dr, Bruce about 2.20am on Monday.

ACT Policing said in a statement Belconnen officers arrived at the scene at 2.40am and found an allegedly stolen red Jeep Cherokee with its engine on.

Mr Fahnbulleh was nowhere to be seen.

Police allege the car was fixed with fake number plates which were made of polystyrene.

The 24-year-old was later found in Macquarie about 3.30am and was arrested.

In court on Tuesday, Mr Fahnbulleh faced five ACT criminal charges including learner not displaying L plates, learner driver unaccompanied by supervisor and driving a motor vehicle without consent.

He was escorted into the courtroom with three corrective services officers sporting white socks and thongs, a grey jumper, black shorts and a shaved head.

Defence lawyer Richard Thomas said he did not oppose Mr Fahnbulleh extradition.

Magistrate Glenn Theakston granted extradition with the 24-year-old to be taken into custody by police, and he was taken to Queanbeyan police station where he was charged with murder.

The matter was mentioned in Queanbeyan Local Court on Wednesday and it was adjourned to August 11 in Penrith Local Court.

Mr Fahnbulleh made no application for bail and it was refused for both matters. His ACT matters were adjourned to August 21.
