Police have raided a home after they arrested a man during investigations into the alleged gunpoint robbery of Nick Kyrgios’ green Tesla from his mum as the Australian tennis star thanks his fans for their support.

A 32-year-old Canberra man was arrested after he allegedly threatened Norlaila Kyrgios with a long-barrel gun and demanded the keys to her son’s car at about 8.30am on Monday.

The man allegedly asked her how to drive the car before he fled the scene but was later arrested.

In a statement, ACT Policing said officers raided a Gilmore home on Tuesday afternoon and allegedly found a shotgun, believed to be the firearm used during the robbery.

During the search two other firearms, a pistol and a .177 air rifle, were also allegedly located and seized along with an unreturned, rented BMW, commercial-grade fireworks and substances suspected of being drugs.

The seized items will be subjected to forensic examination as a part of the ongoing investigation.

Kyrgios broke his silence on Thursday following the update in the investigation through a story on his Instagram.

“Last couple days has been rough ... haven’t slept much and battling a little,” he said on his story.

“Appreciative of all the support.”

Court documents viewed by NCA NewsWire revealed Ms Kyrgios alerted her son of the man before Kyrgios called triple-0.

Kyrgios was allegedly able to track his car and impose a speed limit to it via an app on his mobile phone which allowed police to safely follow it.

Police tried to intercept the car however were unsuccessful before they abandoned a “short pursuit” due to safety concerns.

A cordon was established by police in Ainslie where the man was arrested and the vehicle recovered.

The man appeared in ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with aggravated robbery, driving a stolen motor vehicle, furious driving, and fail to stop for police.

He was denied bail to appear at a later date.
