Mr Strybis was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital however he later died.
In the week since his death tributes have flowed along the south coast for the grandfather and diehard Nowra Bomaderry Jets and Cronulla Sharks fan.
Taylah Strybis is grieving her loving dad as police open an investigation into the 54-year-old’s death.
“He was one of a kind [and] always helped people when they needed,” Ms Strybis said. “He wouldn’t hurt anyone, he had way too much respect.”
Ms Strybis said her dad was loved by many, the Jets footy club and his two children and grandchildren. “He would always make people laugh,” she said.
Jets president Jason Sharp said the club were mourning the charismatic volunteer’s death who always put his hand up to help the club.
Mr Sharp said whether it was doing the ground works, marking the fields for the seniors’ games or fundraising, Mr Strybis would be there.
Mr Strybis even won the president’s and Jet of the Year awards due to his devotion to the club.
“He was just a true footy person, he always took an interest in what the players did … I was always speaking footy with him,” Mr Sharp said. “He’d stop to have a yarn with anybody and help out anyone he could.”
It’s understood Mr Strybis was a key player and try scorer in the Sutherland Shire in his early years before he moved to the south coast.
Mr Sharp said Jets players would wear their club polos to show support with a big turnout from the club expected at the 54-year-old’s funeral.
