A former teacher at a Southern Highlands private school has pleaded guilty to abusing young students on multiple occasions more than three decades ago.
Brian Walter Napper, 75, appeared in Moss Vale court on Monday after being charged with 32 counts which involved former students from the 1980s.
Napper faced 16 counts of indecently assaulting a person under 16 and under the authority of offender, and five counts of homosexual intercourse with a male between 10 and 18.
He was further charged with six counts of assaulting and committing acts of indecency and five counts of inciting a person to commit an act of indecency.
At court, he entered pleas of guilty to one count of assault and committing act of indecency, and four counts of homosexual intercourse with a male between 10 and 18.
He also admitted to two counts of indecently assaulting a person under 16 and under the authority of offender, and inciting a person under 16 and under his authority to commit an act of indecency.
Napper’s abuse occurred between 1986 and 1989 and targeted three of his students.
On one occasion, he had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old who was his pupil, and also masturbated the same victim.
He also assaulted a second victim and incited him to commit masturbation when the student was 15 years old.
Napper also admitted he had sexual intercourse with a third victim who was a 13-year-old student, and also assaulted the same boy on another occasion.
Following his pleas of guilty, 13 charges were withdrawn by a representative for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
According to court records, formal pleas have not been entered on 11 charges.
Following the claims coming to light, Napper was arrested at 10.15am on January 18 after an investigation by the Southern Highlands Police.
He was granted bail due to his age and health, court documents revealed, however, on Monday his bail was revoked and he was taken into custody.
Napper will be sentenced at Goulburn District Court, his case is listed for mention on January 30.
