A popular Melbourne DJ and OnlyFans star has been remembered as a “bright shining star” and “free spirit” by her family after she died from a traumatic fall in Bali.
Courtney Mills, 37, was on a holiday visiting her two dogs when she fell from her apartment building on Friday.
Ms Mills was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and underwent several operations but tragically died on Sunday.
Kiani Mills told the Herald Sun her sister was a “bright shining star”.
“The most beautiful thing we have been able to do for the last couple of days is sit and reminisce about the incredible life that she lived and how full her life was,” she said.
“She was full of adventure and never said no to an opportunity. She would drive hours and hours just to DJ for one hour.
“She would fly across the country to do the job she loved so passionately and to her it wasn’t a job, it was a life.
“Being behind those decks was her sense of freedom and we got to see her light up rooms.
“I hope she is proud of what she is done because we are proud of what she has done.”
Ms Mills’ father Andrew Mills said his daughter was a “free spirit”.
“From an early age, Courtney was a bit of a free spirit,” he said.
“She took on my love of music and was her own free being.
“I’ve always loved her spirit and I always will.”
A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson said it was offering consular assistance to Ms Mills’ family.
“We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time,” they said.
“Owing to our privacy obligations we are unable to provide further comment.”
Ms Mills was living in Frankston with her parents after spending several years in Bali.
She went to Frankston High School and studied at the Australian Institute of Fitness.
Meanwhile, tributes have flowed on social media with mates describing her as the “life of the party”.
“Always remembering the good times playing interstate shows and getting wild between gigs,” friend Jiayden Mills said.
“Always the life of the party and the ray of sunshine in every room.”
“I wish I could hold you and tell you how much you mean to me one last time,” Sara Jacqueline said.
“Thank you for blessing my life and being the most incredible best friend.”
Simon Lennox, previous owner of the Hotel Barkly in St Kilda, said: “In the early days of her DJ journey she was one of the only females around and became very popular.”
Ms Mills played at various hotspots including Metropol, Cushion, Motel and Eve nightclub.
Vincenzo James said: “It was a pleasure to have met you and have the chance to tour around Australia with you over the years!”
Ms Mills made headlines in April 2023 after she was hospitalised in Bali following a fall down a flight of stairs.
She was told she was OK but scans revealed she had bleeding on the right side of her brain and a GoFundMe page was set up.
She was also hospitalised in 2018 following a horror motorbike crash with a friend.
