A prominent Victorian Muslim leader has called Peter Dutton a “filthy human being”, warning him that he would “throw” him out of his mosque.

A prominent Victorian Muslim leader has called Peter Dutton a “filthy human being”, warning him that he would “throw” him out of his mosque if he tried to visit in the lead up to the election.
In a rant posted to social media, Melbourne Imam Samir Mohtadi, also known as cleric Abu Hamza, ripped into the Opposition Leader over his “pro-Zionist” stance amid the Israel-Hamas war.
“You’re not welcome here,” he said.
“I’ll actually literally grab you and throw you out, you filthy human being.”
The religious leader, who also called Mr Dutton a “racist”, has previously posted radical videos calling for the eradication of Israel.
“We don’t want a two state solution,” he told his followers.
“There’s only one state, one state, which is the Islamic Palestinian state.
“We have to eliminate the terrorist zionists.”
Abu Hamza, who receives funding from the Victorian government and has previously posed up with state ministers and MPs, also told Israelis to “go back to Poland”.
“We don’t believe in Israel,” he said.
The religious leader, through his organisation IISNA MyCentre, also commented “Pigs stick together” on a photo of Mr Dutton and Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
Coalition campaign spokesman and shadow home affairs minister James Paterson labelled Mr Mohtadi’s comments “completely inappropriate”, noting he was a community leader who runs taxpayer-funded organisations.
“This kind of extreme rhetoric is particularly reckless and irresponsible during an antisemitism crisis,” he said.
“Labor MPs and candidates should have nothing to do with someone who publicly espouses views like these.
“Only a Dutton-led Coalition government will tackle extremism and stamp out antisemitism.”
It comes just weeks after Liberal frontbencher Jason Wood was heckled out of a Melbourne mosque as he pledged $6.5 million to upgrade its facilities.
A Victorian Government spokesman said “there is no room for hate and discrimination anywhere in this state”.
Mr Mohtadi has been contacted for comment.
