Shane Crawford and his family make the move from Melbourne to New South Wales

After a year spent with four kids in lockdown, footy favourite Shane Crawford has made the move with his family interstate. Here’s why.

Shane Crawford and partner Olivia Anderson have announced the family’s move to northern New South Wales.

Anderson said after going through the rigours of COVID last year they decided to take the plunge and relocate with their four sons, Charlie, Jack, Ben and Harry.

She said Crawford, former Hawks champion and TV personality, would travel back and forth for work.

“I haven’t shared too many details about our sea change north … mainly because I was just too busy actually doing it,’’ she posted.

“Plus we genuinely did not know how long we’d be here for.

“So far — no regrets. Thanks to the break in our normally flat out routine (covid) plus the nightmare that was six months of home schooling for us, we took the plunge and followed our hearts (and my family) to far north NSW. The place we’ve gravitated to for years and always felt sad to leave. So for 2021 it's home.”

Anderson said on Wednesday it was the first day of starting a new school for all boys.

“Of course I celebrated/ commiserated at the cutest coffee place around,’’ she wrote.

“No way would they let me get a group photo (sorry but we are not that family) it was too rushed and a little tense but overall I’m soooo proud of them all.

“The school is fantastic and I know 100 in my gut it’s the right move for our family, but I won’t pretend it’s easy and I know it will ocntinue to be two steps forward one step back for a long time.

She added: “So far so good but wish us luck as I have dynamic twins, a pre-teen + an amazing year 9 boy who I’m so proud of (he was most reluctant to leave his friends and school he loved).”

Crawford grew up in Finley in New South Wales, with his brothers Andrew and Justin and were raised by their mother.
