Police are continuing to hunt for two teenage boys two days after they stabbed a woman during an early morning confrontation outside a Northern Rivers home.
It comes amid a spate of attacks, break-ins and car thefts involving youths wielding bladed weapons like knives across the region in recent times.
Richmond Police District was called to a home on Boronia Crescent at Casino, about 30km southwest of Lismore following reports of the attack about 2.50am on Saturday
Officers were told “a group of unknown teenage boys had been making threats to residents in a home”, according to a NSW Police statement.
A pair of women left the residence “to confront the boys” and one of them, a 33-year-old, was “stabbed in the hand by one of the teens”.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman and she was taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, the boys fled the area before police arrived.
Officers set up a crime scene and launched investigations, which were ongoing on Monday afternoon.
A police spokesman was asked whether any charges were pending, whether footage had been found and if anyone was assisting police with inquiries.
NSW Police was also asked for more information on the suspected circumstances of the attack, but the spokesman would only confirm investigations were still underway, and that no arrests had been made.
Police have urged anyone with CCTV, dashcam vision or more information to contact Casino police, or to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
