A northern NSW man stands accused of launching a sickening attack on a number of dogs, resulting in the tragic death of two puppies.
About 1pm on Wednesday, the 47-year-old man was walking a number of dogs, including six small puppies, along Anne St at Moree, about four hours inland from Grafton.
Police allege he kicked one of the puppies, before kicking another dog in the torso and letting go of the leash.
The public incident was reported to New England Police District officers.
It’s alleged they inquired and discovered the man killed and disposed of two of the puppies.
He was arrested at Moree Police Station about 9am on Thursday.
The man has been charged with two counts of torture, beat, and cause death of animal.
All remaining dogs have been seized, according to police.
The man was refused bail and appeared before Moree Local Court on Thursday.
He was then granted conditional bail to face the same court late next month.
