Rorie Buckey has shared a heartfelt New Year’s tribute to her boyfriend Robert Irwin on Instagram.
Buckey, 19, took to social media to express her gratitude for the past year, highlighting her journey alongside Irwin.
“Grateful for all the wonderful memories created this year, the people I’ve met, for my beautiful family and friends,” she wrote alongside a series of photographs showcasing their travels, family time, and significant events from 2023.
“My heart is so full of love and gratitude. Bring on 2024!”
The post received an outpouring of love and support, including a love heart emoji from Robert and warm messages from her twin sister Scarlett and numerous followers.
“Love you lots and lots ... such a good year and more amazing memories to come!” Scarlett wrote.
“Can’t wait to see what’s in store for you in 2024,” a follower added.
Robert Irwin also shared a video recounting his 2023 highlights, including international travels and time spent with family and Buckey.
The young couple’s relationship has captured the hearts of their followers, with many speculating about a potential engagement in 2024.
This interest was further piqued by Buckey’s recent announcement of joining the Australia Zoo team, a move aligning her more closely with the Irwin family’s conservation efforts.
Buckey, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at Curtin University in Perth, revealed in December that she would be involved crocodile research in North Queensland, a project in collaboration with the University of Queensland and Australia Zoo.
2024 promises to be a landmark year for both. While Rorie Buckey embarks on her new role, Irwin is set to co-host the popular reality TV show “I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” alongside Julia Morris.
Rumours suggest that Irwin’s involvement in the show comes with a substantial $500,000 deal according to news.com.au.
