More than $10,000 has been raised to get the body of an ‘adventurous’ young man who died after falling from a tree in inner Brisbane back home to Byron Bay.

More than $10,000 has been raised for a man remembered as adventurous after he was killed in a tree fall in inner Brisbane as his family desperately tries to get his body back home to Byron Bay.

A GoFundMe has been created by family and friends in memory of Tadhg Higgins, 21, after he died on Tuesday on Gould Road at Herston on Tuesday morning.

“Tadhg, my beautiful, adventurous shining light, has left this world. In his true adventurous style, he fell from a tree,” the GoFundMe page said.

“Tadhg was enormously loved and I would like to bring him home to Byron Bay so we can celebrate his short, beautiful life together.

“I am asking for your financial support to help bring him home to celebrate him with all who loved him. I will keep updating here with details of the celebration.”

Mr Higgins died after falling between 3-5m to the ground, sustaining critical head injuries.

Bystanders quickly came to help by calling the ambulance, however he later died from his injuries.

The Courier-Mail understands Mr Higgins had studied video editing since 2013 and had recently been working as a freelancer.

Friends have taken to the GoFundMe to share their tributes.

“I am so shocked and saddened by this devastating news. I can’t imagine how you are feeling. I am holding you in my thoughts in love,” Sally Guildford wrote.

“I’m so so sorry. What a huge loss. What a beautiful young man.”

Zali Spinner, who is listed as a team member for the GoFundMe campaign, wrote on social media that she was “absolutely devastated” and “lost for words” following the recent passing of her “dear friend”.

“This still doesn’t feel real,” she wrote.

Ms Spinner described the 21-year-old, who was lost “far too young”, as “incredibly intelligent, ambitious, down to earth - gentle natured young man with the biggest heart”.

“I remember nothing but fond memories with Tadhg over the last 15 years, “ she wrote.

“Tadhg’s mother worked extremely hard as a single mother to provide for Tadhg and his brother and really deserves any generous donations you can give to support her through this difficult time and to give Tadhg the send off that he deserves.

“You were one of a kind Tadhg, we will miss you.”
