Koa Andres Navarro faces Tweed Heads court on drug, weapons charges

A 25-year-old man has fronted court on drug and weapon charges after he was allegedly found with MDMA, cocaine, cash and a secret weapon when police stopped him in Tweed Heads.

A 25-year-old man allegedly caught with a number of drugs and a stun gun disguised as a torch has fronted court.

Police allege Koa Andres Navarro was seen crossing the median strip on Wharf Street, Tweed Heads on November 3, 2021.

Police say Navarro was stopped and spoken to by officers before the white Commodore was searched.

They allegedly found MDMA, cocaine, cannabis, more than $3100 in cash and an electronic stun device disguised as a torch.

Navarro appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday to face charges of supplying prohibited drugs, possessing or using a prohibited weapon without permit, two counts of possessing prohibited drug and recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime.

No plea has been entered.

His matter was adjourned in order to be assessed for the Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment rehabilitation program.

The matter will next be before the court on December 13, 2021.

Navarro remains on conditional bail.
