A $7 million luxury four-storey apartment block is coming to the Tweed Heads cultural hub in northern NSW.
Tweed Shire Council has approved Planit Consulting’s development application, which features seven flats on Marine Pde, Kingscliff.
Kingscliff is an upmarket beach town known for coastal charm and modern amenities, just a 39.4km drive from the Gold Coast.
The 746.10sqm site will house 21 bedrooms, with the property facing the Kingscliff beach.
Situated near the Kingscliff Foreshore Linear Park, Kingscliff town centre, public transport and the new Tweed Valley Hospital, the site is a prime location.
The area is also not bushfire-prone or subject to coastal erosion processes.
The development will have a variety of colours, textures and architectural details to reflect contemporary coastal architecture qualities, the development application states.
It will have upper-level plantings and lightweight battens to offset heavier building materials.
The site currently contains a two-storey brick veneer apartment building, which will be demolished.
The new building will include carparking, utility services, communal open space and landscaping.
The approval follows the council giving a similar development, consisting of a seven-unit complex with a pool and basement parking, the green light last year.
There is currently an acute shortage of homes, rental costs are skyrocketing from Byron Bay to the Queensland-NSW border.
