A new Northern Rivers brewery is getting closer to opening its doors to the public despite a few setbacks along the way.
After getting council approval to open Two Mates Brewing in South Lismore in February, the owners have been working hard to get their taps flowing.
Co-owner Grant Smith had told The Northern Star in February he'd hoped the brewery would open before Easter but there's been some delays.
Taking to social media, the brewery said it was "progressing albeit slowly".
"We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and can promise, on finalising a few items, we are not far away from announcing an opening date," the Two Mates Brewery posted online.
"We are gaining momentum."
The team is also working on releasing merchandise soon for beer fans, including T-shirts, jumpers and growlers.
The brewery had gone through a lengthy community development application process with Lismore City Council, after South Lismore residents raised objections to the project.
But during the February council meeting, the business got the tick of approval to move forward with their plans in opening the brewery at 7 Engine St, South Lismore.
Mr Smith told the Northern Star his team were looking forward to "providing something good for the community.
