A pair have fronted court after they allegedly nicked a man’s wallet before going on a spending spree at a Lismore shopping centre to stock up on smokes and food.
The man and woman had their matter mentioned before Magistrate Michael Dakin in Lismore Local Court on Thursday.
Rosebank man Glenn Pender, 39, was charged with robbery in company and three counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage or causing disadvantage by deception.
His co-accused, Lismore woman, Rachel Trustwell, 43, is facing three counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage or causing disadvantage by deception.
A charge of robbery in company was withdrawn and dismissed.
Neither Pender or Trustwell have entered any pleas.
The court heard the pair – between 2.20pm and 2.40pm on November 2 last year – were at a house in Lismore Heights where police allege Pender stole a black leather wallet, $55 in cash, two Commonwealth Bank cards and personal identity documents belonging to a Mr David Tuckett.
Police allege the pair then went on a shopping spree at Lismore Square Woolworths, a tobacconist and a petrol station.
Police further allege the pair used Mr Tuckett’s bank cards to buy $69 worth of goods at Woolworths Lismore Square, $94.80 worth of goods at a CTC tobacconist, and $174.40 worth of goods over three transactions at a Lismore Caltex service station.
The court refused bail for Pender who remains in custody and who is due to reappear in Lismore Local Court on June 11.
Trustwell was granted bail and is due to reappear in the same court for committal on May 14.
