Byron man in court for domestic violence offences at Lismore

A Byron Bay man who assaulted a woman in Lismore has faced court. Here’s what happened.

A Byron Bay man has pleaded guilty to a string of domestic violence offences against a woman at Lismore.

Carl Remy John Maher, 33, pleaded guilty at Lismore Local Court on Monday to domestic violence-related charges of common assault, intimidation and contravening a domestic violence order.

He was also charged and pleaded guilty to using a phone to harass or menace.

The offending took place between 4pm and 4.15pm on December 18 at Lismore.

The matter was adjourned to June 19 for sentencing.

Maher remains at liberty on bail.
