Nigel Willacy pleads guilty after break-in on Uralba St, Lismore

A man has faced court after his Lismore break-and-enter plans went awry. Here’s what happened.

A Lismore man has faced court after breaking into a property while armed with a knife.

Nigel Willacy, 24, pleaded guilty at Lismore Local Court on Monday to charges of break and enter and steal, armed with intent and custody of a knife.

Officers from Richmond Police District were called to the break-in on Uralba St in Lismore about 11pm on December 29 last year, the court was told.

They then spotted a man now known to be Willacy running from the scene.

Willacy was tracked down a short time later on Laurel Ave and found to be carrying a knife.

Officers took Willacy to Lismore Police Station, where he was charged.

Willacy has been refused bail.

He is due to be sentenced at Lismore Local Court on February 28.
