Police arrest two teens, looking for one more person after car crashed into tree during chase in Casino

A trio of teens allegedly lead police on a cat and mouse chase through suburban streets in northern NSW before crashing the car they were driving into a tree.

A trio of teenagers allegedly lead police on a cat and mouse chase through suburban streets in the state’s north overnight before crashing the car they were driving into a tree.

Richmond Traffic and Highway Patrol officers spotted a car with cancelled registration travelling along West Street in Casino about 9.40pm on Tuesday.

Police tried to stop the Holden Commodore, but the driver failed to stop and a chase began.

The driver of the Commodore lost control when they attempted to turn left into Convent Parade, crashing into the front yard of a home and into a tree.

Two teens have been arrested, but no charges had been laid by Wednesday afternoon.

All the occupants fled from the area.

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man alleged to have been in the car.

They were taken to Casino Police Station, but released while investigations continued.

A person alleged to be the third occupant of the car was seen running along North and West streets in Casino. They were not found, despite a search of the area.

The person is about 150cm tall and was wearing dark clothing and a hoodie.
