First Sun Holiday Park, Byron Bay: Man charged after man found with serious head wound

A man has been charged after an injured man was found in a Byron Bay caravan park with a serious head wound before being flown to hospital. Here’s what we know.

A man has been charged after an injured man was found in a Byron Bay caravan park with a serious head wound.

The accused, 39, will face Byron Bay Local Court after being charged with affray.

Emergency services were called to First Sun Holiday Park on Lawson St, Byron Bay, following reports of an assault about 3.30am on Tuesday.

Officers from the Tweed/Byron Police District found the injured man, also aged 39, with a serious head injury.

The man was treated by paramedics before being flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

The accused was arrested at the scene and taken to Byron Bay police station. He was granted conditional bail and will appear at court next month.
