Man, 20, charged over alleged involvement in armed break-and-enter at Hickey St, Casino home

Police have charged a man over his alleged involvement in an armed North Coast break-in. Officers believe two culprits are still at large. Here’s the latest.

Police are investigating an alleged home invasion on the North Coast in which a man and woman were threatened with an axe.

Officers have charged one man, who has been granted bail.

Police were called to a reported home invasion on Hickey St, Casino just after 8:30pm on Tuesday.

“At the scene, police were told three men allegedly entered the home and threatened a man and woman with an axe before stealing personal items,” police state.

Richmond Police District set up a crime scene and launched investigations.

Soon after, a 20-year-old man was arrested at a motel on Hare St, Casino.

He was taken to Casino Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and aggravated breaking into a dwelling with others in order to steal.

The man has been granted strict conditional bail and is due to face Casino Local Court on February 22.

Investigations were ongoing on Wednesday morning.
