A convicted child sexual offender from the Clarence Valley has found himself in hot water again after he signed up to a hook-up website named “justrooting”.
Grafton man Christopher Jackson, 51, fronted Grafton Local Court on Monday.where he pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to comply with child protection reporting obligations.
The 51-year-old man was convicted of two counts of indecently assaulting a child at Grafton District Court in 2021.
Jackson was sentenced to a community corrections order, avoiding time behind bars.
He was subject to the Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Act 2000 at the time of offending.
Jackson was soon busted breaching the conditions of the register after he moved homes in April of last year.
On October 31, 2023, police visited his new home and conducted a routine inspection, according to court documents.
Officers noticed Jackson did not inform them he had changed his home internet. The second breach related to an email on his Hotmail email account.
“The email was a receipt for premium membership for the site ‘justrooting’,” the documents state.
“(Jackson) was asked about this username, to which he admitted to creating the account and paying for the premium membership.
“(He) stated he did not realise he had to notify police of the username.”
Jackson’s case has been adjourned for a sentencing assessment report.
He is due to return to court on March 4.
