Alstonville High celebrated their formal with class and pizzazz on their home turf this year, like many schools dealing with a unique year that no other student can say they lived through in their high school educational life.

In the final newsletter from the school staff praised the efforts and support from their community in teaching and learning through ‘the most difficult year’.

‘The need to pivot to the conditions, be flexible and adaptable and remain positive has been a massive challenge for all of us’ were the sentiments from Alstonville High.

Despite the challenges the year 12’s donned their finest to ham it up in a peak celebration of their rite of passage into the next chapter of their lives.

An honourable mention went out to year 12 graduate Georgia Turner with her Major Textile Project (achieved via distance education) that was selected in the prestigious Shape 2021 Showcase.

Alstonville High Textiles and Design teacher Mrs Christmas said Georgia was an ‘amazingly dedicated student’.

The class of 2021 arrived in the customary assortment of modern and classic cars but the knockout of this formal was the double-decker red love bus.
