The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Koreelah on Tuesday night when a 62-year-old woman suffered serious hand injuries after the bottle she was holding exploded.

Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care team stabilised the woman before flying her to Lismore Base Hospital where she was treated and was in a stable condition.

It came days after the helicopter responded to a serious burns incident at Wollongbar.
