Westpac Rescue Helicopter flies Grafton 13-month-old boy to Queensland Childrens in busy weekend of medical cases

It was another busy weekend of work for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter as it undertook missions right across the area and beyond.
Overnight, the helicopter was called to Grafton Base Hospital for an urgent medical transport of a 13-month-old boy. At the hospital, the critical care paramedic and doctor prepared the boy for transport before flying him to Queensland Children’s Hospital.
He was reported to be in a stable condition.
It followed an incident further west in the state where a 16-year-old male on a property north of Warialda was seriously burnt while welding near a drum of oil.
He was treated at the scene with the assistance of NSW Ambulance for extensive burns to both of his legs, his right arm and face.
He was flown to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious condition.
Closer to home, on Saturday night the chopper was tasked on an inter-hospital retrieval.
When the aircraft landed at the Maclean Hospital the Westpac medical team with the help of hospital staff prepared a 75 year old male for transport to Grafton Base Hospital.
The man suffering from a medical condition was suffering a serious medical condition, but was reported to be in a stable condition.
Finally on Saturday afternoon a 61-year-old female suffering serious cardiac complications was flown from Tenterfield Hospital to John Flynn Hospital in a stable condition for further specialist treatment.
