A man has been rushed to hospital on Sunday afternoon after a dramatic paragliding crash on North Coast beachland.
According to a NSW ambulance spokesman, the 44-year-old pilot hit rocks near Bogangar about 2.30pm.
The man suffered serious multiple leg fractures prior to being airlifted direct to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment, according to a Westpac Helicopter media spokesperson.
Surf Lifesaving NSW Duty Officer Jimmy Keogh said the man had hit the rocks heavily on the northern side of the headland.
Three paramedic crews, NSW Police, Surf Lifesaving FNC and the Westpac Helicopter crew were tasked to transport the man from the beach to the nearby Cudgen rugby league field.
