Foodies, comedians and local legends: Meet NSW’s top 100 TikTok content creators

Crazy pranksters, fanatic foodies, Olympic athletes and local legends – TikTok is full of viral celebs, with some of the most entertaining content on your For You Page being produced by NSW natives. Check out our list of NSW’s biggest TikTok stars.

Musicians and record labels turning to TikTok

TikTok may be seen as just a “dancing app” to some, but the hit social media platform has become one of the most popular apps in the world for its mix of funny, outrageous and entertaining short video content.

Whether you’re interested in fashion, dancing, fishing, food, parkour, pranks, adorable pets, video games or music – there is a niche for every person on TikTok, with a creative creator leading the way.

Rocking the world of foodie content, Sydney-based Lily Huynh, better known as @biteswithlily, has amassed nearly two million followers for her content which she describes as “living my best life through exploring the best food from around the world”.

Growing a massive following since joining the app in 2021, Lily describes her journey of content creation as “a roller coaster”.

“When I started posting food views for fun two years ago, I never imagined how much it would impact my life today,” Lily said.

“A few months ago, I left my job at Microsoft to pursue my dream of travelling the world and being a food content creator.

“I have no regrets because I’m doing what I love every single day. My favourite part is being able to travel the world, experience different cultures, try new food and share it with others.”

With millions of views, Lily’s content consists of videos of her travelling around the world and documenting all the different foods she eats from a range of countries, cuisines and cultures, giving followers her opinions and ratings based on taste, cost and overall experience.

“It’s surreal seeing the impact I’ve made on some small businesses I’ve reviewed who told me they were struggling but now have orders piling in,” Lily said.

“It warms my heart to be able to shine light on wonderful food and business that deserve it.

“I’ve also been incredibly blessed to work with some amazing brands that I’ve always loved such as KFC and Australian Meat Emporium.”

With more than half of all Gen Z girls saying they would quit school or their job to become an influencer, the TikTok content creator is the new dream job of the social media generation, with people like Lily proving that becoming an influencer is a viable career path.

“A big misconception is that you have to have videos that go ‘viral’,” said Lily.

“While it’s nice having viral videos, what I think is most important is having consistency and building a strong community of followers who trust you and look forward to what you post.

“I have such a wonderful group of followers and I’m so grateful for them!”

With 1.8 million followers who could potentially be the next generation of TikTok celebrities, Lily wants to advise young people who want to follow a similar career path to not be afraid and go for it.

“Work hard and be consistent,” Lily said.

“Don’t be afraid of failure, always be open to trying new things and believe in yourself.”
