A drug deal gone wrong is alleged to be the catalyst for a stabbing murder that claimed the life of a man in his 30s and landed a 15-year-old boy in a jail cell.

Chi Liao died out the front of a multimillion-dollar home in Concord in the early hours of Saturday morning, after police allege he was stabbed by a 15-year-old boy.

It will be alleged the pair met up for a drug deal on Spring St, Concord around 12.30am – seen talking on CCTV footage before the teen pulled out a knife and began chasing Mr Liao.

The teen boy was arrested shortly after the stabbing, after his mother escorted him back to the crime scene.

He was charged with murder and faced Parramatta Children’s Court on Sunday.

He did not apply for bail and will remain in custody on remand until October.

Police finally identified Mr Liao this week, after conducting a post mortem examination.

It’s understood he is a Taiwanese national and father-of-one and moved to Australia recently.
