With over 50 flood rescues in the last 24 hours for the Mid-North Coast, emergency services were again called into action, using their training to life-depending use.
The Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) in-water team were quick to act, needing to urgently rescue a child experiencing breathing difficulties.
The two-year-old boy was trapped in his home in Congarinni North, approximately 9 km west of Macksville on Wednesday night when the Bowraville fire station were contacted by his concerned mother.
The child was assessed by FRNSW and it was determined that he needed urgent medical attention.
He and his mother were taken down Wilsons Road, however due to flood waters the rescue was temporarily halted.
Requiring further support, an in-water rescue team and SES were dispatched and with their assistance, the team were eventually able to pass the flood waters.
The mother and child were taken approximately two kilometres along the river in Macksville for medical extraction.
The pair were transferred to a NSW Ambulance in Macksville, where the boy received care.
The young boy was in a stable condition when he was handed over to paramedics.
Earlier this week, a sick 8 year old boy was rescued from flood waters by the SES in Coffs Harbour.
