The Orara River is experiencing moderate flooding

Photos from across the Coffs/Clarence show the force of the recent flood on a region just catching its breath from the recent deluge only a few weeks ago.

Roads are crumbling and trees are down across the Coffs region.

Emergency Services Minister Steph Cooke warned of a similar pattern over April.

“We are still expecting wet periods over the coming months, we may be in this situation in a week’s time,” she said.

In Coffs Harbour, a feverish eight-year-old boy with Covid and a calf swept away by floodwater were among the call-outs for emergency services.

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews helped paramedics reach the boy who was isolated by floodwaters at Bucca, north of Coffs Harbour.

Boaters are urged to stay off waterways on the Mid-North Coast until the dangerous conditions subside.

Destructive winds and intense rain have resulted in several vessels breaking their moorings in areas in the Clarence River and Coffs Harbour.

NSW Maritime Executive Director Mark Hutchings said boaters avoid waterways in these hazardous conditions.

“Submerged debris, strong currents, wild weather, strong winds and big seas are causing treacherous conditions along the coast,” Mr Hutchings said.

Farmers along the Orara River at Coramba have been desperately moving cattle to safety but “the ground is so wet, cattle are sinking” said one farmer Eliezer Robinson.

Flooding up near the Providore store in north Bellingen is the highest many locals have ever seen it.

In Bellingen on Wednesday morning an SES flood evacuation order urged residents on the north side of town to go across town over flooded roads and bridges to an evacuation centre at the high school.

Holiday-makers in the riverside tourist park at Urunga were forced to cut their stays short on Wednesday morning when the State Emergency Service issued an evacuation order.

The latest levels and warnings can be found here.

Flooding has now impacted more than 30,000 people across northern NSW from Tweed Heads to Coffs Harbour, forcing locals to flee to 18 evacuation centres, while the search for a missing woman has been widened.

Swamped State Emergency Service volunteers have dealt with more than 500 requests for assistance across the Northern Rivers and Mid-North to 5am since Monday.
