A Coffs Coast truck driver caught with a large quantity of amphetamines and scales in his vehicle has pleaded guilty to supplying drugs.
Police were acting on intel when they pulled Emerald Beach man David Alexander Anthony over just south of Coffs Harbour at Valla about 2.30pm on October 28, court documents state.
Officers believed Anthony may be in possession of drugs.
The 59-year-old told officers he had “a quantity of amphetamine within the vehicle”.
A search uncovered four plastic containers in the centre console, each containing quantities of a “beige coloured substance” weighing 70 grams in total.
Police also found $2400 in cash, two electronic scales and a bag containing empty plastic resealable bags and a spoon.
Anthony declined to be formally interviewed.
The truckie pleaded guilty to supplying a prohibited drug greater than indictable but less than commercial quantity and recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime when he faced Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday.
Magistrate Julia Virgo ordered a sentence assessment report to be prepared.
The case was adjourned to January 17.
