Coffs Harbour man charged following alleged police pursuit at Sawtell
A 25-year-old Coffs Coast man was allegedly busted with a haul of illegal drugs and weapons – including a machete and knuckle dusters – after he allegedly attempted to flee from police.

Police have seized a bizarre collection of weapons and drugs on the state’s north coast after a young man allegedly attempted to flee from officers.
About 3:30am on April 2 police officers were patrolling Hogbin Dr when they attempted to stop a Hyundai i30 hatchback.
“When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated, continuing south along the Pacific Hwy towards Sawtell where the vehicle came to a stop,” police state.
“Following a short foot pursuit, a 25-year-old man was arrested before being taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.”
Police then searched the car and allegedly found a machete, knuckle dusters, methamphetamine, and prescription medication.
The man, who is from Coffs Harbour, was charged with police pursuit, driving a car while disqualified and displaying a misleading number plate.
He was also charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, having a knife in a public place, being in possession of goods suspected of being stolen and possessing a prohibited drug,
He has been refused bail and was due to appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
