Crime scene established after shots fired into Ballina home

A volley of gunshots fired into the front of a Ballina home may have been a case of ‘mistaken identity’, police believe. Here’s what we know.

Gunshots fired into a home in downtown Ballina last night were probably a case of “mistaken identity”, police believe.

Police were called to a home in Brunswick St following reports of shots fired about 9.15pm on Easter Monday, April 10.

At the scene, officers were told that several shots had been fired into the front of the property.

No one was injured.

A crime scene was established and police are appealing to members of the public for any information which may assist their investigation.

Initial inquiries have led police to believe the incident is a case of mistaken identity.
