A man has died after falling from a waterfall in the Blue Mountains this afternoon.
The Daily Telegraph understands that the man was part of a group who were exploring the Minnehaha Falls in Katoomba, where he became injured after falling down.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 1.30pm on Monday.
Officers from the Blue Mountain Police Area Command, along with Police Rescue and paramedics arrived and treated him at the scene for serious injuries.
Unfortunately, the man died at the scene.
A spokesperson for NSW Police told The Daily Telegraph that the man has yet to be identified.
“Inquiries into the incident are ongoing and a report will be prepared for the Coroner,” they said.
This latest death comes after an incident in 2016, where 35-year-old Dennis Brooks went missing, with his body found five weeks later in a pool at the base of the Minnehaha Falls.
The falls are roughly 100km west of Sydney, and have a 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor, with reviews calling it “mesmerising”, a “beautiful spot to sit for a minute” and a “tranquil swimming hole”.
However, many reviewers have urged caution to those seeking to walk the trail, noting that the path “is a lot of uneven rocks to step over”.
