Taking to the r/Australia thread on Reddit, a mum from the US kicked off the discussion, saying, "American here... just wanted you to know that my kids are watching Bluey so much that they're starting to pronounce some words with an Australian accent."

They added, "Big thanks to Australia for giving the world such a great show, by the way! We all love it."

Mwuahahaha, it's working!

"Everything is going according to plan."

The seemingly innocuous post now has over 4.8k upvotes and 700+ comments, with fellow parents jumping on board with the "Australia taking over the world" theory.

"Our master plan for world domination is working," one top comment said. "Slowly but surely"

"Good. Everything is going according to plan," joked another.

"Our secret plan to take over the world one kindy (kid) at a time is going well," added someone else.

"Next season, Bluey and Bingo start using the metric system in each episode," quipped a different user.

"I'm a Brit and suddenly, my girls are asking to use the 'dunny'"

Other parents also chimed in saying their kids were also adopting Australianisms and picking up on our slang.

One said: "American here. My kid has fully adopted the use of ‘Oh biscuits’ for when she drops stuff and ‘dollar, bucks’ for money."

"I’m a Brit and suddenly, my girls are asking to use the dunny," a second admitted.

And plenty of others pointed out that this was payback for years of Aussie kids being exposed to American cartoons.

"Bout time things inverted lol," one person said.

And this person added: "Returning the favour for Sesame Street’s ‘zees’ and ‘ketchup’, among others."
