Nathan Cleary shares sweet snap with Matildas star Mary Fowler

Australia’s newest sporting power couple have finally come clean on their romance, posting a loved up snap on social media.

Penrith Panthers’ Nathan Cleary has made his romance with Matildas star Mary Fowler Instagram official, posting a loved up snap on Tuesday.

Cleary shared a sweet selfie of himself with his head in Fowler’s lap on a beach at sunset in a gallery of new photos on Instagram on Tuesday evening.

“That’s life,” he wrote alongside the image, which showed Fowler, clad in a green bikini top and brown bottoms, beaming towards the camera as Cleary grinned and posed with a peace sign.

Cleary ended the post with an ice cream emoji- potentially a cheeky reference to when he and Fowler sent the rumour mill into overdrive by reportedly grabbing some ice cream together after a promotional event by Adidas —who sponsors them both— in August.

Rumours spread rapidly about a romance between the two star athletes since they were spotted together on separate occasions following the Matildas impressive performance at the World Cup.

Penrith locals were quick to catch a glimpse of the 25-year-old NRL player taking a scenic stroll along the River Nepean with the 20-year-old star striker last year.

The private pair, who were later spotted cuddling in a Perth park in November, have yet to speak publicly about their not-so-subtle relationship, but have kept fans guessing with tiny hints of their romance online.

In another Instagram post last week, Cleary shared a snap of himself lying on a pair of legs, and another where he held a mug of hot chocolate alongside a woman’s hand.

Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed the hand bore a cross tattoo identical to one on Fowler’s left hand.
The pair were also spotted recently having dinner with friends on the Gold Coast.

Cleary was also seen picking Fowler up from Sydney Airport as she flew home for Christmas from the UK, where she plays for Manchester City after several weeks apart.
The sporting stars were then seen playing a friendly game of football together at a local oval four days before Christmas.
