While it seemed a little early for some, Christmas lovers were rejoicing when retailer Big W dropped their Christmas range in stores and online in August.

Shoppers loved new items like the sleigh and reindeer light set, inflatable elves, gingerbread men, Santas and Koalas, cute nutcracker figurines, and of course the Bluey advent calendar.

But they seemed to have missed one rather large and quirky addition to the retailer's new festive range.

A giant balloon Christmas tree!

Big W are already stocking Christmas decorations

Big W's Merry Everything Balloon tree

A bargain hunter hit the Christmas Mums Australia Facebook page to share an image of the fun Christmas decoration.

"Big W have some stuff out already! How cute is this?! $40 plus postage," the woman shared.

The balloon trees come in two different colour options - a colourful and festive range of green, red, white and gold as well as another winter wonderland theme of just silver.

The kit contains 108 balloons in various sizes as well as a foil star for the top, tape, glue dots, string and a balloon weight to assemble it all into place.

"Get creative this Christmas and go all out with this stunning Balloon Tree," the product description reads on the Big W website.

Stunning indeed.

People are loving the different Christmas tree

The Facebook post attracted over 150 comments from other Christmas lovers who couldn't wait to get their hands on the fun decoration.

"I’m tempted for this year!" one shopper wrote.

"I think my tree plans just changed haha," another group member added.

And another Christmas lover shared: "I need this in my life."

Meanwhile, others loved the quirkiness of it but pointed out all the problems that it would bring.

First there was the problem of pets destroying the tree. Mainly cats.

"Man I wish this was doable but my cats would love to destroy it," a lady shared.

"OMG the cat vids would be hilarious!" another agreed.

And then of course there are the toddlers who like to destroy everything.

"Then there's my kids .. pop pop pop waaaaaa. After I spent hours blowing up balloons," one mum said.

Others were more dreading actually assembling the tree... because blowing up a handful of balloons for a kids' birthday party is enough work for the year!

"Will I have to blow up each balloon or is it one valve does it all, like a pool toy?" one person asked.

The answer is no. And with that, other shoppers were out.

"I once attempted a balloon arch for my son's birthday and regretted that decision immediately," a mum laughed.

"114 pieces of insanity," another shared.
