Get your Griswold on! Big W has their Christmas decorations out already

People are outraged at the premature Xmas stock, with some calling for a "boycott" of stores who try to "profiteer early as it's destroying the Christmas spirit!"

It's the most wonderful time of the year... or is it?

According to Big W - it is!

Despite it still being winter in Australia (at least for a few more days) the retail giant has already decked their aisles with a range of Christmas products. 

Some shoppers are in shock over the premature festive stock, while others can't wait to get started on Christmas prep!

"Christmas decorations spotted in BIG W today... eek"

When Big W's Christmas decorations began to hit the shelves, people quickly ran to various Facebook Groups to share what they spotted at their local stores. 

A photo on the Mouths of Mums Facebook page showed a sleigh and reindeer light set and inflatable elves, gingerbread men, Santas and Koalas.  The person captioned the post: "Christmas decorations spotted in Big W today... eek!!"

And another user shared a photo of a Nutcracker figurine they found, writing: "I NEED this little guy from Big W for my Christmas minis, he would match perfectly!"

Meanwhile, over on the Bluey Mums Australia page, someone shared that they had seen Bluey Advent Calendars pop up on the online store and couldn't wait to buy them. 

Then elsewhere on Facebook, one woman shared a snap of Big W shelves containing Christmas Tree ornaments, Australian native-inspired tinsel, wrapping paper and ribbons. She wrote: "Could not believe my eyes yesterday afternoon when I was in Big W. They were in the process of putting Christmas stock on their shelves! Seriously, WTF! It's not even September yet! At this rate, I'll be over Christmas long before 25th December, which is still 17 weeks away!"

And in the Merry Christmas Mackay group, a mum shared snaps of Christmas tableware such as tablecloths, napkins, plates and tea towels.

"Seriously? Oh my god?"

Across all the posts, people weighed in with their thoughts. Some were outraged, with one person saying, "I suggest we all boycott buying any Christmas stock from retailers until 1st November! Maybe then the powers that be who run the retail chains will get the message to stop with the profiteering as it's destroying the Christmas spirit!"

Another said: "Gee, they're getting in quick, it's not even Father's Day yet!"

And a third added: "Seriously? Oh my God."

"I'm not ready to see that yet. 😲" admitted one commenter.

"This photo gives me anxiety," chimed in another. 

"Makes sense"

"Not mad about this," one Christmas fanatic wrote.

"Nothing can contain my excitement!!" remarked someone else. 

"I'm on my wayyyy!" wrote another user.

And this woman said: "It makes sense, September is just around the corner."

"Just got the wrapping paper and wrapped five presents today - feeling on top of it all, for once," shared another person.

And in some truly terrifying news... someone said they've even spotted Easter deccos at other discount stores...
