A Sydney running club is helping others to not only exercise but to find love as well.

Move over Tinder, there’s a different way to find love and you only need joggers, a water bottle and the will to get out of bed at 5am.

Instead of swiping left on a person and maybe meeting up at a bar, joining a running club seems to be doing the trick, as it did for Sydney locals Emma Savva, 22, and Daniel Mansour 26.

“Emma and I knew of each other previously but [we] got talking after one of our runs when everyone was having coffee, asking about our running journeys and how we got into running,” Mr Mansour said.

“He bought me a coffee. I just said what I wanted and he tapped his card. [Since] then we ended up doing a few of our own runs together. He is my better half,” Ms Savva said.

“If it weren’t for the run club then we probably wouldn’t have seen each other, gotten to talking and gone on our own runs.

“It’s been like ‘wow you must really like each other if you’re seeing each other at 5am’.”

One of the club’s founders, Yianni Moustakas, 29, told The Daily Telegraph that some members travel from Liverpool and Bass Hill to take part.

“We actually get a lot of people from Western Sydney coming to our runs. One guy comes from Camden. He’s told me he wakes up at 3:45am and he’s down here by 4:45am,” he said.

Mr Moustakas is happy that his club has brought people together and helped forged friendships and relationships.

“We’ve had a few people already who are going on dates and dating currently. The fact that people can just find somewhere early in the morning and not just meet a future lover but future friends is great,” he said.
