The Wild Cat Conservation Centre in Sydney has named their four 10-week-old cheetah cubs! Welcome Dottie, Darcie, Exton and Ezra!, , , , The centre is looking for people to sponsor the cubs or become cheetah cub donors before the end of the financial year to help them care for the young cubs. The not-for-profit organisation relies on cat loving members of the public to help them with their unique conservation work., , , , Wild Cat Conservation Centre Director, Ben Britton, said “we are proud to be the only organisation in Australia that is returning cheetah to the wild. The success of Edie’s release back in March, the first cheetah ever bred in Australia and returned to the wild shows that it can be done and more importantly it should be done. Every cheetah deserves the opportunity to live a natural life and that is not possible in a traditional zoo environment., , It costs us a lot of money to rewild our cheetahs and send them home to Africa, $100,000s of dollars so we need to raise as much money as possible over the next 12 months to help send these cub’s home., , With less than 7000 cheetah remaining in Africa, our insurance population is vital in helping to conserve this amazing species.”, , , , Wild Cat Conservation Centre is home to Sydney’s only breeding program for Cheetah and Clouded Leopard as well conserving Fishing Cat, Serval and Caracal.
