Tanya launches brutal rant about Ronnie and Georgia after intense meeting on The Block

As the chaotic season of The Block continues, one contestant has stormed off during a meeting to brutally sledge another behind their back.

For the second time this season, a meeting between Block teams has descended into chaos, with controversial contestant Tanya unleashing on Ronnie and Georgia for accusing her of bending the rules again.

Inter-team relationships look far from repair amid one of the most explosive seasons of The Block, with Sunday night’s episode airing yet another contestant yelling match.

Tanya appeared to lose her cool during the episode, erupting in a furious outburst to camera about Ronnie and Georgia, complete with an exaggerated impersonation of Georgia in which she shrieked in mock-gibberish and flailed her arms about.

Tanya really committed to the bit.

The drama all kicked off on Tuesday night when teams were tasked with creating a piece from shipwrecked items for their upcoming bedrooms.

Tanya and Vito produced a “fidget planter” made from an old ship steering unit, which was savaged by judges and left them apprehensive about displaying it in their room until Shelley Craft permitted them to alter it.

“I think there’s just this area of ambiguity with regard to what that means, and I think we all need to get on the page,” Georgia said of the advice, calling a “super casual and not serious” meeting.

While the meeting started off calm, things very quickly went downhill as is wont to happen with this crop of Blockheads.

“We’ll make ours a bookcase. (We’ll) keep the pallet but get rid of the steering wheel section,” Tanya explained.

“The whole argument is we all knew we were creating something to go in our rooms from the beginning …,” Mark chimed in.

“That’s why I went: boring shelves,” Georgia added, motioning to her and Ronnie’s piece.

As the teams began to bicker over the definition of a “tweak”, fiery Love Island twin Josh snapped: “I couldn’t give a flying toss what anyone does with anything. I really don’t care – change it, transform, whatever you guys want, I don’t care.”

With the meeting going nowhere, Georgia stood up on a chair and called out “What’s the rules?! What are the rules?” while clapping her hands together for dramatic effect. Elsewhere, Ronnie called for a penalty.

Making it clear she’d had enough as Georgia and Ronnie continued to bellow about the rules, Tanya marched right up to a producer to vent her frustrations.

A risky move.
A risky move.

“He just talks so much rubbish – he’s just a d*ckhead,” she fumed of Ronnie.

“Georgia’s the same. She just loves getting up there and …,” she began before launching a theatrical impersonation, shrieking in the tone of Georgia’s voice and waving her arms about wildly.

Clearly the feeling is mutual, with Georgia ranting to her husband: “That’s how they play this game, they do whatever they want, there’s no rules,” referencing the explosive cheating scandal from earlier this season.

Speaking to the camera, Georgia added: “There’s this entitlement to think that you can do whatever you want. It really blows my mind. This is not real life, this is The Block, we’re in a competition, it’s a reality TV series with rules in place and I’m just perplexed that someone thinks they’re above all of this.”

Georgia sounded off to producers herself – though far less dramatically than Tanya.

Come room reveals, Tanya and Vito ended up keeping the steering wheel unit intact – which the judges surprisingly loved.

The same could not be said for the boys’ bathroom re-do, with Neale Whitaker exclaiming: “I feel this is their way of saying ‘we liked it exactly as it was’ … They are basically sticking a finger up at the judges and saying ‘We got it right first time, here’s your redo room’”. Ouch.

Ultimately, Ronnie and Georgia took out the week with their re-do wardrobe and kid’s room, with Kirsty and Jesse half a point behind them.

Next week the fractured teams will tackle their kitchens.
