LISA Oldfield has revealed that her mother has stopped speaking to her and gives aspiring reality TV stars some blunt advice: Don’t do it.

REAL Housewives of Sydney star Lisa Oldfield has a blunt message for anyone keen to find fame on reality TV: Don’t do it.

The businesswoman and wife of former politician David Oldfield has been arguably the most controversial cast member of the reality show’s debut season, with an open-book approach to her marriage problems and frequent vicious fights with her co-stars.

Now Oldfield has revealed the toll taken by her participation in the program: Her mother has stopped speaking to her.

In an emotional Instagram post that she’s since deleted, Oldfield said her “heart is broken into a million pieces” since her mother shunned her after her divisive appearance on RHOS.

“Ladies, if you’re approached to do an invasive reality show, don’t do it, the emotional cost is horrific,” she wrote.

It’s unclear what exactly her mother had objected to, but Oldfield has previously admitted she regrets having treating the program as a confessional booth for her marital issues.

The Oldfields underwent several marriage counselling sessions on Real Housewives, with Lisa at one stage saying she “hates the mongrel she’s living with.” A scene in which she called one of her young sons a “dickhead” on camera also drew ire from some viewers.

Her feuds with her co-stars were well-reported, too — and last week’s reunion episode saw several of her fellow Housewives hold her to account for bad behaviour through the season including repeatedly slut-shaming mother-of-three Krissy Marsh and calling family friend Nicole O’Neill ‘fat’ behind her back.

Away from the show, Oldfield has courted controversy too: Earlier this month she announced via an Instagram post that she’d be divorcing David, then backtracked on the announcement during an appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O Show. During a joint appearance on the show with David a week later, Kyle and Jackie O had listeners call in to give the couple advice on whether they should stay together or split up.

No word yet on who exactly will return for season two of Real Housewives of Sydney — or indeed if there will even be a season two. In the meantime, the fourth season of Real Housewives of Melbourne is expected to air later this year, with two new cast members joining the fray.
