How’s life?

I’m great. I’ve just come back from an amazing trip away for a few weeks in the Maldives with my little family. My husband Anthony and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary while we were over there, it was super sentimental. The last time we were there was for our honeymoon.

It was revitalising to be away with Anthony and our daughter Azura to just relax and reconnect as a family. I’m at my happiest when I’m surrounded by my family.

The Real Housewives of Sydney debuted this week, I believe you were the first to be offered a contract and the last to sign on. Why?

If you watched last season, or the first episode of season 3, would you blame me for not wanting to return?

With so-called friends like these, who needs enemies? In all honesty, I was extremely hesitant to come back to the show after what transpired last season. I wasn’t sure if I wanted that negativity back in my life.

In my real life, I like to surround myself with friends who empower and inspire me. Not people who drag me down and bring out the worst in me.

Why did you decide to come back? Did ‘Mini’ support your decision?

I ask myself that question everyday. In a nutshell, after a great deal of convincing and consideration, I finally decided to come back because ... 1, I couldn’t leave my good friend Kate to battle it out all on her own; and 2, I felt I had unfinished business.

I don’t like to leave things unresolved. I genuinely hoped we could right all the wrongs from last season and try to bring the fractured group back together and finally have some sort of resolution, sadly not everyone had that same intention.

Mini supports me no matter what I do.

Why haven’t you done any press for RHOS yet?

For me it’s not about the five seconds of fame, it’s about integrity and self respect.

Truthfully I’m trying to distance myself from some of the women, the way they’ve behaved on the show and in the press/media recently is despicable. I’m totally shocked and trying to rise above it but I’m only human and it’s difficult at times to go high, especially when they go so low.

You have also been absent from social media, why?

I’ve never really been that big into social media. I post when I feel it’s relevant. I don’t need everyone to know where I am and what I’m wearing and doing all the time. Anthony and I have been in the public eye for a long time so we feel some things should remain private.

What’s your biggest criticism of some of the women on the show?

I don’t agree with the pack mentality, that you blindly support each other and, if you disagree, you become the enemy.

That happened last season and again this season. I stand up for what I believe no matter what, that’s integrity to me. If I disagree with you, I can still respect your opinion and be your friend and not want to destroy your life or reputation.

Have you viewed the entire season?

Yes, I’ve seen the entire season. And to echo the words of the great late Brian Walsh, “a lot of the women in this show were nasty for nasty sake”. It happened in season 1, in season 2 and now again in season 3. It’s totally unnecessary.

People can be cruel. I try not to take it personally – it says nothing about me but a lot about them.

What are your thoughts on the edit?

As far as the edits are concerned, we film for hours and hours and that gets edited down to only a few minutes, so some things tend to get lost in translation. Instead of seeing the whole picture – a 360 degree view of the situation – viewers only get to see maybe a 90 degree view. There are many times when you may see a reaction from me but you don’t get to see what actually made me react in that manner. No one ever loves their edit but I own everything I’ve said and done.

What’s your reaction to the first episode?

It’s not easy to watch yourself, or anyone else for that matter, being singled out and piled on, especially when you’re not there or given the opportunity to defend yourself ... it’s disappointing.

True friendships are not the people who act true to your face, it’s about the people who remain true behind your back.

How many out of the seven housewives are you friends with?

Do you mean friends or acquaintances lol. I’ve always been friends with Sally, and our friendship has only grown stronger. Kate and I met last season through the show and, over time, we’ve become incredibly close. She’s someone I can trust and rely on for support. Martine, who joined the circle just this season, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know her. These ladies are intelligent, strong, confident, honest, genuine and kind. I have enormous respect for them.

I feel that I haven’t lost any friends through this experience, I’ve only gained friends.

What’s one word to describe the women you no longer get along with?

Disingenuous.

What are your friendships like outside of the show?

My real friendships out of the show are unbreakable. I cherish and value my friends, they mean everything to me, and I hold them close and dear to my heart. Friendship to me is about honesty, trust, respect, loyalty and consistency.

How would you describe your experience of RHOS Season 3?

I actually loved filming this season. I had an absolute blast! Undeniably there were moments that weren’t that great and quite confronting, but overall I had a great time. Filming for me is normally the best part of the job – we get to dress up, go to parties, dance, travel and experience all the fun stuff that this show is famous for.

The most difficult thing for me is the aftermath. When I watch the season back and realise what other cast members really feel about me and are saying behind my back. It’s shocking, hurtful and distressing at times.

All of this drama between you and a couple of the other women happened due to ‘Lategate’. What really went down?

I wasn’t late because THERE WAS NEVER A PLAN TO MEET.

This was a plan to publicly discredit me and question my integrity.

I’m not afraid to admit when I’m wrong and apologise and take accountability. Something which seems to be an seems to be an issue in this group.

All the baseless accusations they have my name to are not true!

It’s been widely reported that a Housewife wasn’t invited back, however, she persuaded two other Housewives to give an ultimatum to producers to get her back on the show. True?

I believe that to be true, however, that had absolutely nothing to do with me, nor did it have any bearing on my decision to come back for this season.

What should this show be about?

Originally I committed to this show because I thought we were trying to reinvent what a real housewife is, to empower women, to tackle issues that all women deal with no matter where they live or how much or little money they have. I believe, as women, we’re all going through the same stuff and doing our best we can.

What do you want the audience to know about you?

What you see is what you get with me. I’m a straight shooter and I call it as I see it. I defend the truth regardless of the consequence. I’m passionate, I wear my heart on my sleeve. I’m tolerant but, when I get pushed too far, I go off like a T-Bomb.

I’ll defend myself and I stand my ground. I won’t be dictated to and I don’t blindly support something I don’t believe in no matter what. I love my family and friends and I don’t take myself seriously – I love a laugh and a good dance.

Would you ever sign onto RHOS again?

Ha ha. Let’s see if I survive this season first! At the end of the day it’s just a television show and not my real life!

I’m looking forward to some exciting projects I’ve been working – so watch this space.
