Reality television series The Real Housewives of Sydney has not only brought the drama, it’s shined a spotlight on the harbour city’s food scene.
The hit BINGE series has now been streamed into 23 countries around the world.
These places are getting a taste of the best of Sydney’s food and dining scene, which cast member Sally Obermeder believes is the best in the country.
“On the show, you are seeing these restaurants at their best, from harbourside locations to the secret spots that maybe you’ve never heard of,” said the cofounder of wellness brand Swiish.
“To be able to showcase that to the world is incredible.”
Venues like Promenade Bondi, Becketts in Glebe and Ploos at Circular Quay have all been locations for scenes throughout the series.
“Sydney is one hundred percent also a star of the show. Even for me! I live here and I’m seeing stuff and falling in love with Sydney again,” Obermeder said.
BINGE has not yet commented whether the show, which is reaching it’s finale, will be renewed for a third season. However Obermeder hinted there is likely more seasons to come and more of Sydney to see.
“An episode earlier this season showed housewives Terry Biviano, Victoria Montano and Nicole O’Neil visit a spice market in Greenacre. I feel like as the seasons go on, we are going to uncover some places that you probably didn’t know existed. We are going to exit the eastern suburbs and find some real hidden gems,” Obermeder said.
Ibby Moubadder, head of ESCA Group which own Surry Hill’s venue Nour, said they agreed to host the cast because of the shows “extensive following and the significant brand exposure it offers. Additionally, we knew our venue would look stunning on their cameras, given the high production quality.”
