It looks like Milly Alcock has a new man in her life.
The Aussie darling, who has been making serious waves in Hollywood thanks to her role in Netflix’s Sirens, has always kept her personal life tightly under wraps.
But now, she’s given followers a rare glimpse into her love life.
So, who’s the lucky guy?
His name is Joseph (Jo) Powell. While details about their relationship are still pretty scarce, we do know he’s a chef with a sharp eye for alternative fashion.
In 2024, Powell was working in hospitality at 392 Kingsland Road, a popular bar in London.
The pair made their “hard launch” as a couple just last week, when Powell posted a cosy mirror selfie alongside snaps of the two dining out and exploring Lisbon, Portugal. In one picture, Powell is seen sipping wine in an “I Love My Girlfriend” T-shirt, so it’s safe to say things are official.
A week later, Alcock returned the favour, sharing a sweet snap of the pair all smiles in front of a car at The Pig Hotel in the UK.
It’s the first time the 25-year-old has publicly acknowledged a relationship.
The reveal comes just a month after Alcock admitted she still struggles with the intense spotlight that’s come with starring in global blockbusters like HBO’s House of the Dragon, and with her role as Supergirl up next, that attention is only set to grow.
“Sometimes, [as a celebrity] you don’t get treated like a person — and that’s really hard,” she told ELLE Australia.
“You get idolised and people fantasise what your life is, but the reality is, I still have to do the washing up and call my mum more than I do. I still have bills to pay, and in my personal life I still don’t feel good enough. At the end of it, I’m still a person, and I don’t want to be the ‘celebrity’ who feels inaccessible. I don’t want to be idolised.”
Adjusting to fame is clearly an ongoing process for Alcock, who also starred in the Aussie series Upright.
“I think I’m in this sweet spot right now,” she added.
“I can be myself, and I kind of use it as my superpower. What I’ve been discovering people have a projection of who they think you are. As soon as you’re honest and vulnerable with them, you can break through that.”
