CHANNEL 10 was yesterday in damage control after yet another attempt by a media outlet to spoil the outcome of The Bachelor, just over a week out from the finale.
Series favourite Laura Byrne was stalked by paparazzi over the weekend, who claim to have followed the jewellery designer to a secret meeting with Matty J at the foot of the Blue Mountains.
While the weekend movements of both Matty and Laura — which included private cars, overnight luggage and attempts to lose photographers — mounted a compelling argument, the nail in the coffin, a photo of the pair together, was not offered.
The network and Warner Brothers, who produce the series, were said to be furious yesterday after the information and photos were uploaded to the internet, with emergency meetings called at Ten.
If the reports which surfaced yesterday are correct, it shows the extreme measures of the producers to allow the couple to have romantic weekends together.
The article published on The Daily Mail said Byrne caught an Uber just minutes from her Rushcutters Bay residence to Edgecliff, the next suburb over, where she bizarrely exited the Uber and crossed the road.
She then hopped into what appeared to be a Bachelor production crew car.

The article also claimed Matty, who had been away from his Bondi home all weekend, arrived back on Sunday night making a swift exit from a chauffeured car.
The car circled the block for 15 minutes before the driver parked and headed inside with Matty’s home luggage.
When asked about the article, a Channel 10 spokesperson said: “Media interest in The Bachelor Australia increases every year, which is testament to the enduring popularity of the show.
“This season there has been an extraordinary number of completely false, misleading and ludicrous speculative stories about Matty’s journey, the Bachelorettes and even the final result.
“Network Ten trusts that viewers know not to believe everything they might read about The Bachelor Australia and we are looking forward to sharing Matty’s true experience in the coming weeks.”
