Tate McRae and Kid Laroi heat up dating rumours at NHL All-Star game

Canadian pop star Tate McRae ‘sent kisses to her exes’ with a sizzling performance at the NHL ice hockey showpiece – and left holding hands with Aussie singer Kid Laroi.

Canadian pop princess Tate McRae has taken a swipe at her ex while pouring fuel on the fire of rumours that she’s dating Australian singer and rapper The Kid Laroi.

Footage of the two 20-year-olds leaving dinner hand-in-hand in Canada on Sunday has gone viral, after McRae’s NHL All-Star game halftime performance.

The music duo were spotted by hockey fans inside Scotiabank Arena, holding hands as they wove their way through security.

Videos of the interaction between the ‘You Broke Me First’ singer and ‘Stay’ singer is doing the rounds on social media, with McRae appearing happy and smiling, while Laroi is looking more reserved.

Her comment section on recent TikToks is flooded with mentions of the Sydney-born Laroi, whom McRae has been rumoured to be dating since they holidayed together in Mexico last month.

This moment of hand-holding PDA comes after Laroi shared a since-deleted picture of himself with McRae, and fellow pop star Olivia Rodrigo to X two weeks ago.

McRae and Laroi were also photographed leaving a dinner in Los Angeles the week before that.

McRae revealed the famous trio had been to a comedy club in an Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe.

“Me and my friends just have zero filter, so if we don’t like something, it’s like … We look like b-tches over here,” McRae said. “All the comedians were unreal. We had a blast.”

She added that sometimes the humour didn’t translate for Australian Laroi.

“He’d be like, ‘I don’t get it. Is this American humour?’” Tate told Zane. “I’m like, ‘I’m Canadian.’”

“He’s awesome,” she added. “He’s so in love with music. His taste is so good. He goes into the studio, and it’s just all for the music … I really admire him and think he’s such an unreal artist.”

Some fans have speculated the pop artists are teasing a collaboration rather than a romance, since both of them are signed to record companies under the Sony Music umbrella.

Although, the two theories aren’t mutually exclusive.

McRae was one of four celebrity captains named for the NHL All-Star Game, along with fellow Canadians and Grammy-winning artists Justin Bieber and Michael Bublé, and was in the company of Laroi, Justin, and Hailey Bieber while exiting the Toronto venue after the match.

“Justice for my hurt feelings,” the multi-platinum Exes singer captioned a TikTok of herself dancing in a sizzling performance ensemble, worn underneath a mustard-yellow hockey jersey on Sunday.

Fans have interpreted McRae’s social media posts, and the performance itself, as a direct dig at ex-boyfriend and professional ice hockey player, Cole Sillinger, who she reportedly broke up with last year.

Taking to his Instagram after the game, 20-year-old Sillinger replied to a post by the Instagram account “blind_ref_logic” — a meme account with 142,000 followers — which accused him of cheating on McRae.

The post featured a collage of four photos, including a snapshot of McRae and Sillinger, as well as a photo of the Canadian singer at NHL All-Star this past weekend.

The post read: “Step 1: Be Cole Sillinger. Step 2: Date out of your league (literally). Step 3: Cheat on her, jump-starting her career [and] Step 4: She gets invited to the NHL All-Star game before you.”

“All false my guy,” Sillinger wrote in the comments.

McRae’s break up came around the same time as Laroi’s, with the Aussie artist conspicuously deleting all social media evidence of his former glamour model Katarina Deme in August 2023.
