Tate McRae and The Kid Laroi stir up dating speculation
After a very awkward quizzing by KIIS FM’s new star recruit Cooper Johns, the web’s abuzz with goss Canadian starlet Tate McRae might be dating one of Sydney’s hottest pop exports.

Tate McRae fans are in a tizzy about a rumoured relationship brewing between the Canadian pop star and Australian singer The Kid Laroi.
On Wednesday, the Laroi shared a photo with McRae and her friend, fellow pop star Olivia Rodrigo to X (formerly Twitter).
This comes as McRae and the 20-year-old Aussie were photographed leaving a dinner at restaurant Giorgio Baldi together in Los Angeles last week.
McRae was being interviewed (very awkwardly) by Cooper Johns on KIIS FM when the photos surfaced last Friday.
“Any dating going on in Australia or anything like that? You’re single aren’t you?” Johns asked.
“Single? … Yeah, I’m single right now,” she said.
The dinner, however, stirred up dating rumours that have swirled around Laroi’s connection to McRae since they holidayed together in Mexico last month.
The You Broke Me First singer and Laroi were filmed dancing with a group of friends in footage shared to social media.
McRae also appears to be wearing a shirt belonging to him over her swimsuit in one of the trip photo she posted to Instagram. Laroi commented under the post with a sunglasses smiley face emoji.
Neither of the musical duo has directly addressed the rumours, however, leaving fans to speculate whether this could be a PR-teaser for a musical collaboration.
McRae is signed to the RCA Records label in the US, and Laroi is signed to Columbia Records, which both fall under the Sony Music umbrella.
Both artists have had a massive six months, with Laroi releasing his long-awaited debut studio album, and McRae kicking off 2024 as one of the buzziest names in pop music.
The smash hit Greedy from McRae’s second album, Think Later, propelled her to the top of the charts and more than a billion Spotify streams. She will bring the Think Later world tour to Australia in November.
In their personal lives, both McRae and Laroi went through breakups in 2023.
