Rita Ora on The Voice’s new season: ‘I’m so excited to make dreams come true’

Rita Ora has revealed what exactly she’s looking for among this year’s pool of talent as she prepares to make her debut on the brand new season of The Voice.

Taika Waititi and Rita Ora have been secretly dating in Sydney

Rita Ora will make her debut on The Voice Australia alongside coaches Keith Urban, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy in coming months, with the UK pop sensation claiming she’s “honoured” to be a part of the new season.

“I’m so excited to join the coaching panel on The Voice Australia this year,” she said.

“I can’t think of a better way to launch a season this big than with a promo so fabulous. Everything from the song, my pink Cadillac and the powerhouse location was absolutely breathtaking.

“It takes an army to pull together a shoot like this and the team were so on point. This season for me is all about finding individuals with heart and soul, who are passionate about creating music. I feel so honoured to be a part of a show where we all feel so inspired and driven to make dreams come true.”

Ora, who previously appeared as a coach on the UK version, filmed the Aussie version in Sydney for three months, during which she struck up a high-profile romance with Thor director Taika Waititi.

The pair were photographed together as recently as a few weeks ago showing PDA with American actor Tessa Thompson. However, neither has publicly commented on the eyebrow-raising photos.

Ora is now in Los Angeles after wrapping filming on The Voice.

The singer along with Mauboy replaced longtime coach Delta Goodrem and former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland, with Sebastian being the only returning co-star.

Goodrem, who was allegedly blindsided by the shakeup, bid farewell to the show after nine years in a heartfelt Instagram post last year.

“One of the most powerful gifts of my nine year journey on The Voice has been finding my own voice amongst all of it...,” she wrote.

Following the departure of Goodrem, Rowland and Boy George, the brand new judging panel recently shot their latest promo at the Casula Powerhouse, which Sebastian described as an “epic” shoot.

“This was the most epic promo I’ve ever been a part of,” he said.

“It was a lot of fun, especially the parts in the lift where I think some of my fellow coaches were about to throw up... It was great hanging with my Voice family and also working with James Chappell, who has directed seven music videos for me — he killed it.

“I can’t wait to see it all come together on television.”

The Voice will premiere on Channel 7 after the Olympics.
