Radio star Abbie Chatfield weighs in on Domenica Calarco’s MAFS nude photo scandal

Sex-positive star Abbie Chatfield believes society has a problem with strong women owning their sexuality.

Outspoken radio host Abbie Chatfield has become an easy target for social media trolls over the years but she makes no apologies for her unfiltered nature.

Chatfield has been vocal in criticising anti-vaxxers during the pandemic which garnered death threats and more recently called out influencers for capitalising on the Ukraine crisis.

Last month, the sex-positive star went viral after announcing she is in an open relationship with Melbourne carpenter Konrad Bien-Stephen and she said the widespread criticism she received is proof that society has a problem with strong women owning their sexuality.

“I think it is slowly getting better, but it’s still an issue,” she said.

Chatfield highlighted a nude photo scandal that erupted on the controversial reality TV show Married At First Sight this week.

“We saw on MAFS the quote unquote exposing of Domenica [Calarco] even though it wasn’t anything to even be exposed. Wow, there’s a nude photo of her on the internet, I’m sure you could find hundreds of me. I literally go to Bondi topless every day,” she said.

Chatfield and her boyfriend Konrad Bien-Stephen are in an open relationship.

Calarco is now said to be exploring legal options over the leak.

The TV host added that criticism surrounding her open relationship isn’t surprising.

“There’s two kinds of people, if you are monogamous and you want to remain monogamous, you feel that monogamy is under threat,” she said.

“Then people who maybe have wanted to not be monogamous now get angry because they’re like, ‘Well, why do you get to do it and I don’t’?”

Chatfield first rose to prominence on The Bachelor three years ago and has since gone on to launch a popular radio show on the Hit Network, a podcast on LiSTNR and is host of the TV show Love Island Afterparty.

When asked about rumours that she is replacing Sophie Monk as host of Love Island, Chatfield, 26, denied the claims.

“Apparently I’m the busiest person in this industry. I’m hosting Carrie and Tommy, I’m hosting Love Island, am I going to host The Bachelor next? Not that I know of, unless a manager hasn’t been able to get a hold of me for something,” she laughed.

In May, she’s set to travel around the country as part of her Hot Night with Abbie Chatfield tour, playing Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne and the Playhouse at the iconic Sydney Opera House in Sydney.
