Bachelorette Brooke Blurton and radio host Abbie Chatfield narrowly avoided an awkward run-in at Mardi Gras on Saturday night, months after their bitter feud erupted on social media.
The former best friends, who are no longer on speaking terms, kept their distance while celebrating at the SCG after infamously falling out last year, when Blurton accused Chatfield of ruining her season of the show by hooking up with one of the contestants.
An insider told Confidential that the pair stayed on opposite ends of the stadium.
“They have mutual friends but kept their distance all night. There’s still some tension there, they can’t stand each other,” a source said.
In November, Chatfield was spotted kissing tattooed tradesman, Konrad Bien-Stephen, in Byron Bay, before he had been eliminated from The Bachelorette which Blurton, 26, described as “a very clear display of narcissism”.
“ … Another white woman displaying what privilege looks like … A very clear display of narcissism. Hurts me. Literally pains me,” Blurton wrote at the time.
To make matters worse, Chatfield, 26, appeared on the show as Blurton’s “best friend” during the finale and she later publicly apologised to Blurton.
“I now understand that the timing of publicly sharing our relationship should have been more considered and that is my fault,” Chatfield wrote.
Blurton appeared to be in good spirits throughout the night despite another awkward blast from the past.
Bachelorette runner-up, Jamie-Lee Dayz, who Blurton dumped during the finale, also attended along with former contestants Holly Langford and Amelia Rubio - who are now in a relationship.
